Jazz stars help break ClementJames fundraising record

What a night! We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who joined us last week at our fundraising evening with the brilliant Jazz Dynamos. Only one week after releasing their latest CD the jazz quartet with singer Lucy Randell performed in aid of The ClementJames Centre in front of a 200 strong crowd.

Before the band took to the stage, Saida, one of our service users, spoke about her personal experiences coming to the centre:

There has been a change for the better since we started coming here, it is always positive. We are always welcome. I was in a difficult financial situation which was causing me stress but through the support of the centre this has improved. Without ClementJames life would be difficult to be honest with you. They help me with my communication and they have made lots of parts of my life better for me and my family. If you want to study, if you want help, if you need advice, if you need support, it is all available at the centre and that makes a big difference to everyone here in the community.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts and generosity the event raised over £12,000, more than any of our previous events. This will enable us to run our highly impactful Wellbeing Clinic and young people’s resilience workshops for a year. We are so grateful to all of you who donated to the event, had a go on the ‘Lucky Dip Tree’, bid on our silent auction items, or bought the Jazz Dynamos’ CD.

We would also like to thank the Jazz Dynamos and Lucy for supporting the charity with this incredibly entertaining show.
