Women’s Self-Care Day November 2019

On Thursday, we invited the women in our community to join us for a day of self-care, including yoga, singing, and biscuit decorating!

Among other therapeutic activities, the NHS delivered a sleep workshop, a masseuse gave out massages, and tenovus led a singing workshop. We also had two representatives from SASH giving out free support on sexual and mental health and relationships.

Abundant supplies of tea, coffee, sandwiches, and biscuits were available. Our free goody bags upon leaving also went down a treat!

We wanted to hold this day to encourage the women in our community to take some time out for themselves. It’s all-too-easy to forget to take time for yourself in our increasingly busy world. The day was a great success! Over 60 local women attended and we thoroughly enjoyed welcoming everyone to the centre for some much-needed relaxation.

The ClementJames Centre would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made it such a special day. Look out for similar events at the centre in the New Year! Feel free to keep in touch with us by popping into the centre, subscribing to our newsletter, or following us on social media (links below).

Massive thanks to our volunteers from Dunnhumby and Audley Travel; Guru Ramdas, tenovus, Community Massage London, Talibah Stevenson, SASH, and NHS representatives for the wonderful workshops and treatments; and finally thanks to the Evening Standard and Benefit Cosmetics for their donations.

To get involved in more wellbeing activities at ClementJames, we hold an acupuncture session at our weekly clinic. Find out more here.
