Update 16th March 2020: In view of this weekend’s Covid-19 developments, we understand that a significant proportion of people who had been planning to attend the event with Christina Lamb now, very understandably, no longer wish to come. Please join us on Tuesday 17th March for an evening with Christina Lamb, in conversation with author and historian, Victoria Schofield.
Christina Lamb is one of Britain’s leading foreign correspondents and a bestselling author. She has reported from most of the world’s hotspots starting with Afghanistan after an unexpected wedding invitation led her to Karachi in 1987 when she was just 21. She started travelling with the mujaheddin fighting the Soviet Union and within two years she had been named Young Journalist of the Year. She went on to be named Foreign Correspondent of the Year five times and win Europe’s top war reporting prize, the Prix Bayeux. She was made an OBE by the Queen in 2013. Currently Chief Foreign Correspondent of The Sunday Times, she has written nine books including the bestselling Africa House and I Am Malala. Her new recent book is Our Bodies, Their Battlefield about the untold story of women in war, rape as a weapon of war and the fight for justice.
