We know that today can be a stressful time for parents/guardians whose children might not have got the school offer they were hoping for. The best thing to do is to stay calm and positive and convey this to your children.
Our Community Hub Team have put together some information for initial questions you may have:
- Your child will have been offered a school, even if it’s one you don’t want, and you are strongly advised to accept this place by 15th March otherwise there is a risk your child will end up with no school at all in September. Accepting the place does not affect your chances of appeal and you can reject this place at a later date if your child gets into the school you want.
- You will automatically be added to the waiting lists of all the schools you originally selected. The borough has advised not contacting schools to find out where you are on the waiting lists for another two weeks as there will be a lot of movement in the next few weeks.
- You can apply to other schools that you did not originally select.
- You can appeal – on Wednesday 2nd March between 10am and 12pm, we will run a session at the Centre in the upstairs classroom to go over the appeals process for those interested and book you in for appointments to offer support with writing your appeal statement if needed. However, it is very unusual for appeals to be successful, so please be aware of this.
To book a place at the appeals session, please call the centre on 020 7221 8810, or email advice@clementjames.org.
